Net surface area
of mineral rights
As of December 31st, 2016, we owned mineral rights to one exploration block in this country with a net surface area of 5,214 km2.
- In June 2016, exploratory drilling at Ohanga-1 in Block 35 (operated by ENI) was completed with negative results. Given the findings, Repsol withdrew from Blocks 35 and 37. All commitments from the 1st phase of exploration were fulfilled and the remaining potential is considered to be very high-risk. A two-year extension was obtained for Block 22, during which time work will be conducted in the fields of geology and geophysics to assess future exploratory drilling.
Information on net production, net proved reserves, and mineral rights as of December 31st, 2016.
