Exploration and Production/Development

By December 31, 2018, Repsol had mineral rights in Bolivia to 30 blocks: 5 exploration blocks, with a net surface of 1,293 Km2 and 25 production/development, with a net surface area of 1,555 Km2.

Net production in 2018 was 3.0 Mbbl of liquids and 72.2 Bcf of natural gas, with a total net production equivalent 15.8 Mboe (43,392 boe/d). The estimated net proven reserves for liquids and natural gas at the end of the year were 138.2 Mboe.

Milestones 2018

  • Caipipendi extension: The Caipipendi license in the Margarita field was officially extended for another 10 years (until 2041), plus five additional years depending on the volume of reserves to be incorporated. It also includes exploratory investments in the Boyuy and South Boicobo projects. Said extension had been previously approved by the Bolivian Legislative Assembly in December 2017.
  • New exploration area in Iñiguazu: The Legislative Assembly approved the Act that awarded the Exploration and Exploitation contract of the Iñiguazu area, where Repsol acts as operator and with 37.5% interest (15% direct interest, and the remaining percentage through its shares in YPFB Andina S.A.). The area is located within the Traditional Zones for hydrocarbon areas of interest in Bolivia, at the southern end of the Caipipendi Block, in the Department of Tarija (South Sub-Andean).
